    What type of RICS survey do I need?

    RICS Level 1

    The RICS Level 1 report assesses the condition of the building, services, and grounds, highlighting any defects, legal issues, or risks. It doesn’t advise on repairs or maintenance but suggests further investigations if needed.

    RICS Level 2

    The RICS Level 2 Survey provides a professional assessment of the main elements of a property, making it suitable for most conventionally built properties. However, it may not be appropriate for properties that have undergone significant extensions or alterations, older historic properties, or neglected properties.

    RICS Level 3

    The RICS Level 3 Survey is recommended for older properties built prior to 1850, properties with unusual construction, those with significant extensions or alterations, or those known to have major defects that require attention.
